Judicial Reforms...... need of the hour

i went through a article in chronicle magzine, october issue which was about the recomendations on the judicial reforms for judicial accountability. figure i got were huge..
* average life of a litigation in India is 15 yrs, which is to be brought down to 3 yrs by 2011.
* pending cases are about 2.67 crores in trial courts and 38 lakhs in HCs, which sums upto over 3 crore cases
* about 2.5 lakhs or 70 % of prisoners are undertrials, awaiting justice.... many of whom have been in jail for longer periods than they would have served had they been sentenced.

no wonder that "Justice Delayed is Justice Denied".......

Donate Blood........... its really good!!

aah.. finally i got to donate my blood( first time indeed) for a friend whose was hospitalized last week due to low count of haemoglobin. i was accompanied by my friend anand whose was also the first time. to be frank, we were do scared. especially people who were coming out of the room after donating blood were scaring us. some were looking paler then before; some getting a spin in their head.
we had to wait for some one and a half hour as, their was rush + lunch time in between. initially our blood was tested and for that they took a 5 ml sample. to a person like me, that was enough. add to that my great friend anand saying that, "anvesh, i dont feel like you going in for donation." i asked "why?" he replied,"because i am two brothers to my parents and you lone child!" (f**k you anand!)
we both were called togather and he put on our fav song 'bulla ki jaana'. pin going in was felt... but not a single thing after that.. nor the flow, neither the pin being pulled out. nothing!
it was awesome experience and we are willing to do it again.. asap( well that is has to be 3 months, atleast)
